Beautiful Barrie - The Place We Call Home!So many families of all ages are moving here because the simple fact is "Barrie has got it right." A recent newspaper article said Barrie is Canada's fastest growing City (StatsCan Census 2006) having experienced the most population growth since the last census in 2002. It's such a great community and there's a real quality of life here. It's a perfect mix of young and old. We have a gorgeous lakefront and beautiful beach areas. You can sail, fish, enjoy great shopping, fine dining, excellent schools and live theatre. There's a superb hospital and brilliant recreational facilities. Being close to ski hills, numerous golf courses and hiking trails doesn't hurt either and it's a way better place for the children to grow up in than so many other areas. People are moving here from all over the Province. It's called an internal migration. There is just so much to do here. Toronto is about an hour to the south and beautiful Muskoka about and hour to the north. Barrie's GO Train service from the south end of Barrie to Union Station in Toronto started on the 17th December 2007, and The Park Place Lifestyle Centre on the old Molson site has started construction. The City of Barrie also has new plans for the lakefront and downtown business area and some of the new projects are already being developed. The plans can be seen at City Hall. (Or Click the Future Barrie Link). Lower housing costs are another big reason to move here and there is a huge choice of homes in all price ranges, so you're sure to find just the right one for you. Not too long ago, a national newspaper reported that Mr Don R. Campbell President of the Real Estate Investment Network and author of several investment books and who has studied the Canadian investment market for some 15 years said "If I were going to invest my money in real estate anywhere in Ontario today I'd say that Barrie along with Kitchener-Waterloo would be my two top choices". On 25th June 2008 the Barrie Advance printed that Barrie is now ranked 4th in Canada on the MoneySense Magazine's list of the best places to buy real estate. It was placed behind Regina Saskatoon and Winnipeg who ranked at the top because of the economic boom in Western Canada and are picking up on the overflow from Calgary. The magazine looked at data from the 35 real estate markets tracked by CMHC and evaluated each on value, momentum and economic strength. Most other analysts agree that Barrie is a solid place to invest in. We're looking forward to working with you. Call us today and let's get together and talk.
